There is a hill in Yekaterinburg, once known as the highest point of the city, and later as the residence of the most influential merchant in the Urals. It was here where the first temple of Yekaterinburg was built, and where the hill from that time began to be called by the name of that temple — The hill of Ascension.

In our journey we will visit the Ascension hill, where the garden of merchant Kharitonov (one of the most influential in Russia) was stretched, and also we will see his manor (a bright element of the Ural classicism), where serious passions had their place that have come down to us in the form of legends and tales.
After visiting the Church of the Ascension we will walk along the promenade where the first baths of Yekaterinburg are situated, and cross the first stone bridge.
At the end of our route we will find ourselves in the oldest monastery in the Urals - Novo-Tikhvin monastery, located in the city, where we will get acquainted with the history of the spread of Orthodoxy in the Urals and with its first nuns who prayed for the preservation of faith in the Russian land in the 18th century.
