The department of the History of West European Art also includes a fine collection of European sculpture containing works of Michelangelo, Canova, Falconet, Houdon, one of the world’s most outstanding collection of applied art, rich in tapestries, furniture, lace, ivories, porcelain, bronzers, silver, jewelry, enamels, cameos.
Fabulous treasures are gathered in the museum: monuments of ancient Greece and Rome, rare collection of specimens of Scythian culture and art, objects found in the burial mounds of The Altai, oriental collections of China, Iran, India and Byzantium, all located in the gala interiors of the four buildings of the Palace.
